I recently came across this great local company that puts a new spin on a popular purchasing trend, Groupon. ideal4acause is an awesome daily deals website, just like it’s competitor, however they have much more of a heart when it comes to giving. ideal4acause is connected with local non-profits & a portion of the proceeds from your deal goes directly to charity. The company works with a number of different non-profits in San Diego: The Helen Woodward Animal Center, Warrior Foundation, Impact Young Adults and San Diego River Park Foundation. I really like this idea, as I am learning more about how to be a mindful consumer & understand where our dollars are really going.
I recently purchased a deal that was $10 for $20 worth of food at a local vegan restaurant, Peace Pies. It was a great deal so deciding if I wanted it wasn’t an issue, I’ve been to this restaurant many times & love their menu. But it was a bonus knowing that 10-20% of my purchase benefits a local non-profit, Roots. I can feel good about my purchases through ideal4acause because they’re giving back to an organization that supports the cultivation & education of sustainable food. I’m glad that there are great organizations like ideal4acause.com. They really do set the bar high when it comes to mindful business practices and are definitely a business worth knowing about.
