About Us

Welcome to Living Beyond the Box, an AMAZING new green lifestyle blog dedicated to helping people do just that, live beyond measure in all aspects of everyday life! With so many people wanting to be healthy, & desiring a more personable and ecologically responsible existence we thought it would be beneficial to share our lives, as our own individual journeys unfold.

A little bit about us:

We’re just 3 gals, well Moms actually. Brought together by chance, and now friendship. We share a love for our families and our young children. And in addition to that we’ve learned to be more health conscious in the last few years.

This is me, Tovah Terranova. Yup, that’s my real name. Married into it actually so I like to think that I married “up.” Mama to two little ones under 4. I love hot yoga & SNL-type comedy. A former business owner my life came to screeching halt when I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis at the ripe old age of 25. Some ish went down you can read more about that here, but because of that crazy time in my life a great deal of change has come of it. And it’s totally opening up all kinds of possibility. I cannot wait to tell you all about it!

Marjeri is an amazing Mama of two with phenomenal vision, an event planner & lover of all things outdoors. She is the yin to Tovah’s yang no doubt. Being a professional planner and an extremely organized person by nature, she is fantastic at executing ideas from vision to production.  She’s got a pretty cute little family that enjoys nature and loves to travel.  You can learn about their eco-friendly projects & life here.

Amber is a brilliantly creative Mamma of two boys. A former graphic designer she’s all about incorporating the balance of Mommyhood while pursuing time for oneself & designer passions. Her DIY projects & creative kitchen recipes will knock your socks off, you can learn more about those here. She carriers with her a tremendous spirit & spunk & is the pulse of our creative collaboration.

We are all professional blog lovers, without even realizing it. So we set out to create something we would love & that would NOT appeal to everyone of all walks of life. We tend to like those projects or topics that are a little “out of the box.” Each of us definitely walks to our own tune so it was important to create something that reflected our commitment to self development & that nurturing side we share with our children & husbands. Sometimes thinking outside of the proverbial box can be tough, challenging or downright scary! However, when you really get your stride in it, there isn’t another feeling like it. Being different, celebrating “going against the grain” it’s all a part of the fabric of who we are.

Whether you’re single, married, D.I.N.K (dual income no kids) or in the trenches of Mommyhood with a sink full of dishes and laundry lying in wait, we hope that you’ll walk away refreshed and inspired. Know that you’re not alone & the threads that connect us are actually more common than we realize.

Living Beyond… isn’t just about everyday living. It’s about inspiration & bringing out your passions into your life, even if you’re not sure what that is yet. Yes, we’re trying to “go green,” but we’re also trying to make everyday life work & living an authentic life “on purpose” is what’s most  important.

Sometimes it’s the small steps that lead us to the big ones, and that’s what we hope to share. Health, wellness, a little bit of the plant-based lifestyle we’re all working towards. And whether or not we realize it everyday we’re being pushed to live beyond measure. Sometimes the growth is painful & at other times it can be fun. We hope to document that attempt at balance in our own lives. Know that we aren’t perfect. We’re people just like everyone else. And we’ve now given you all a window to look through. We’re all going through some tremendous changes right now. Between parenthood, Mammahood & our new found vision we have A LOT to share! Whether that’s through diet & nutrition, exercise, downsizing our carbon footprint, growing our own garden, or preparing for domestic disaster we’ve got it covered. And on the inspiration front we’re always looking to move beyond and grow with our ideas, from party planning to DIY (do it yourself) & creative design we are more than thrilled to bring all aspects of creativity from our lives into yours.
